Find quality kids basketball shoes at great prices. Cheap basketball shoes by Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Converse & more!
As a parent of a child who plays many different sports, finding cheap basketball shoes without sacrificing quality is a yearly endeavor.
With children's feet growing fast, you'll be lucky to get more than one playing season out of a pair of basketball shoes.
If you're like me, each new season starts the same way…
Looking for a new pair of shoes to replace the perfectly good ones my daughter outgrew from the season before.
It's hard for me to spend a lot of money on a pair of kids basketball shoes that will most likely only be worn for one 8-week youth basketball season.
I'll bet you can relate.
I can honestly say that with a little searching my daughter has always been able to select some great Nike, Adidas, and Fila basketball shoes to carry her through each season...And without breaking mom's bank!
As players get older and their feet stop growing so fast, their seasons get longer, and the competition rises, you will probably need to spend a bit more money for shoes with good performance, comfort, and durability.
But while they are little, you can find plenty of kids basketball shoes at reasonable prices that they will love.
Nike Basketball Shoes
Nike has earned a reputation as a leader in the sports shoe market.
Who in the world doesn't recognize the classic Nike swoop?
I have worn Nike high tops throughout my career as a player and a coach and have always been very happy with them. I coached in several college programs that chose Nike to be our team basketball shoe as well.
I will say that, for the most part, we were extremely happy with the performance and durability of Nike basketball shoes with one notable exception.
Many years ago when their first gel-filled soles hit the market, our college team wore them. As our season progressed, the shoes of many of our players busted during practices and games, leaking the slimy gel all over the court. It was pretty much a disaster, but I will say Nike was good about replacing the defective shoes for us.
Adidas Basketball Shoes
My first pair of leather basketball shoes was a pair of classic Adidas high tops - white with the characteristic 3 black stripes.
I loved them, and their look is still popular today.
Converse Basketball Shoes
I got my very first pair of cheap basketball shoes when I was in junior high. They were a pair of white Converse Chuck Taylors. I thought they were awesome!
And apparently, so do lots of kids because this basic shoe style has continued to be popular over the decades.
They're available in just about every color you can think of, and they come in some very cool designs.
I will say that as much as I loved playing basketball in them when I was little, I didn't feel like they gave me the ankle support I was looking for as I got older. I opted for high top leather shoes for most of my career.
Reebok Basketball Shoes
The Reebok Zig is very popular among kids these days, and it comes in some very bright, cool colors.
It's a mid-top shoe with a leather, mesh, and synthetic upper. It has the ZigTech technology, cushioning insole, and rubber traction bottom.
Fila Basketball Shoes
My middle school daughter has worn a pair of Fila high tops for the past two basketball seasons.
They have held up very well, provided good traction and support, and look great.
And the price was definitely right!
I have no firsthand experience with players who have worn And 1 or Under Armour basketball shoes, though you can find customer reviews that are very favorable for both brands.
